Prescribing in Primary Care guidance

NHS England has launched a consultation to update and review commissioning guidance on eight more products that cost the NHS more than £68 million, which builds on their work to identify areas of current NHS spend that could be better utilised for higher priority areas.

It follows on from the commissioning guidance that was produced on items which should not routinely be prescribed in primary care and conditions for which over the counter items should not routinely be prescribed in primary care.

The consultation runs until 28 February 2019.
